At Mazda, we believe vehicles with cabs and cargo beds should provide more than simply practical hardworking transportation. Which is why Mazda B-Series trucks are also engineered to deliver agile handling and exhilarating performance. At work or at play. On the road or off. Flying solo or with friends. These trucks bring you a driving experience like no other.
Mazda B-Series trucks pack power and style enough for any purpose. The Mazda B4000’s 4.0-litre V6 delivers a potent 207-hp. The B3000’s 3.0-litre V6 pumps out 148-hp. And the B2300’s 2.3-litre 4-cylinder serves up a spirited 143-hp. Pick a Regular Cab or Cab Plus (featuring "Freestyle" doors) – it all depends on what you’re loading up, where you’re heading and how many of the crew you’re taking along. Want all-terrain capability? Step up to the B4000 Cab Plus 4X4 with (up to 72 km/h) shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive and nearly 8-inches of ground clearance. Whether you’re going off-road or running off to the mall, you’ll like what our rugged B-Series trucks continually bring to the table.
Exterior
The B-Series truck’s aerodynamic exterior styling projects an image that is both sleek and aggressive. Its sporty, assertive appearance allows it to stand out in the crowd, both on-road and off, while portraying an attitude that is pure Mazda.
- 4x2 models sport 15-inch wheels (alloy on Cab Plus models), while 4x4 models ride on 16-inch alloy wheels; Cab Plus models get a “lifted” look and wider all-terrain tires for a more rugged appearance.
- The monochromatic appearance on Cab Plus models lends a feeling of sculpted continuity, while fender flares with integrated mud flaps offer added protection.
- Front fog lights aid visibility in poor weather conditions (standard on Cab Plus models).
- Two front tow hooks (4x4 only), a removable tailgate and cargo box tie down hooks provide useful functionality; a trailer tow wiring harness allows easy electrical hook-ups for towing.
- Deep-tinted privacy glass and a sliding rear window keep contents out of sight and provide relief from the summer heat.
Interior
The cab of the B-Series reflects Mazda’s attitude that trucks should never sacrifice on comfort, with stylish materials and ample storage throughout.
Cab Plus models are especially spacious and comfortable, with 4 doors and rear jump seats for additional flexibility.
Controls are intuitive and easy to reach, and available cruise control and air conditioning add to the creature comforts.
A standard MP3 compatible CD player provides quality sound entertainment for your driving pleasure.
Performance
The B-Series is Mazda’s sport-oriented truck, with stellar handling and performance. A smooth, powerful drivetrain and agile suspension components make the B-Series an exhilarating drive, feeling more like a sports car than a truck. A smooth shifting 5-speed automatic transmission is available for a more leisurely driving experience.
Three engines are available in the B-Series truck:
- The entry-level B2300 4x2 Regular Cab 2.3L SX is equipped with Mazda’s 2.3L engine, producing an ample 143 hp.
- B3000 4x2 Cab Plus 3.0L DS models are equipped with a capable, economic 3.0L V6 engine developing 148 hp.
- Maximum power is offered in the B4000 4x2 and 4x4 Cab Plus 4.0L models, with a 4.0L SOHC V6 engine with 207 hp.
Other highlights include:
- All engines use cam chains instead of belts, and therefore need no scheduled replacements.
- All B-Series models (with the exception of 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L DS models) are equipped with a standard 5-speed manual transmission that features carbon-fibre-lined synchronizer blocker rings for smoother, better shifting.
- An available 5-speed electronic automatic transmission with overdrive provides seamless shifting for a more relaxing drive (standard on B4000 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L DS models, available on all other models).
- Power rack and pinion steering keeps the B-Series truck easy to manoeuvre both on the highway and in the close confines of parking lots.
- Exceptional handling is attributed to a double wishbone front suspension with stabilizer bar and coil springs, allowing each front wheel to step over road imperfections with minimal effect on the opposite wheel.
- 4x4 models feature steel fuel tank and transfer case skid plates for added protection while off-roading, as well as a tough limited-slip rear differential (standard on all 3.0L and 4.0L models) with generous ground clearance.
